Oprah does it again

Posted in Oprah's Book Club at 9:14 pm by librarygirl

Well, just one day after announcing that Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides was joining the distinguished ranks of Oprah’s Book Club, the book’s sells have already begun to soar. According to Amazon.com, Middlesex had jumped to #4 on their bestseller list; out ranked only by The Road by Corman Cormac McCarthy (Oprah’s previous selection), A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, and of course the indominatable Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling. In my opinion that’s quite a feat for a book published in 2002.

To hear what the USA Today has to say about Oprah’s selection click here. Or you can read a review of the book from About.com here.
