Don’t Spoil Harry

Posted in Harry Potter at 8:31 pm by librarygirl

As the release of the final Harry Potter draws near, the possibility for spoilers to surface becomes much more likely. According to the USA Today, J.K. Rowling is pleading with fans not to leak any clues to the much anticipated plot. Apparently fans have already begun sending spoiler information to Harry Potter fansites.

First, I want to know how they got their hands on an unpublished version of the book? I mean for a Potter fan, that is need to know information. And second, I want to know how it ends. The anticipation is killing me. But like 99 percent of the population, I am just going to have to wait until July. (sigh)

What about you? Are you willing to hide in a deep dark hole away from spoilers and wait to read the ending for yourself or do you want someone to go ahead and put you out of your misery?

The continuation of Harry Potter

Posted in Harry Potter at 12:26 am by librarygirl

Well it seems that J.K. Rowling suffers from the same affliction that has taken hold of all Harry Potter fans. She just can’t seem to get enough of Harry and his magical world. According to Cinematical, the author’s agent has confirmed rumors that she may write a companion book to the Harry Potter series. This book would possibly give background information and a history of the magical world Rowling’s created. You can read more about this here.

So what do you think, would this be an exciting edition to the Harry Potter legacy or last-gasp action to try and keep Potter fans interested? Tell us your opinion.

Harry Potter Websites, A History

Posted in Harry Potter at 2:02 am by librarygirl

In an interesting article by the USA Today, it discussed the creation and development of fansites devoted to Harry Potter. According to the article, a website I have visited often, www.Mugglenet.com, was created in 1999 by a 12 year old boy. He created the website when the Harry Potter series was only beginning to make waves. It was interesting to read how the sites have developed and really changed their creator’s lives. If you’d like to read the article click here.

More news on Harry Potter…

Posted in Harry Potter at 8:12 pm by librarygirl

For all those who are salivating for news about the latest and final Harry Potter book, here’s a tiny update. Scholastic, the publisher of the Harry Potter series, has released the official cover for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. From what I could tell, the cover reveals very little about the zealously hypothesized final plot. According to USA Today, the back of the cover shows He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named reaching out for Harry, while the front portrays Harry surrounded by apparent distruction. In my humble opinion, the cover is not very exciting. I am a huge fan of Harry Potter and just like everyone else I can’t wait for the last book to come out but honestly the cover looked a little boring.

Look at the cover for yourself here, and let me know what you think of it. Does it make you that much more excited about reading the book or do you think something about it is lacking?
